It’s in a beautiful spot.. right before the beach .. feels like a private beach .. not too many ppl come there as they need to travel to this place and not an easy access .. their AC rooms are good, spacious which includes a fridge too but non AC rooms are below average they are pretty old. They have a restaurant within the resort run by a different owner where they serve food and beverages. Overall a good place to stay
I had a terrible experience at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. The access to the resort is inconvenient; you have to walk a full kilometer from the parking lot with your luggage. The path to the restaurant goes through areas with drainage water, which is both unpleasant and unsanitary.
Parking is another issue—there are no designated spots, and you have to pay extra for parking, which feels unfair. The condition of the rooms was shocking. They were filthy, with dirty bathrooms and no hot water. The beds and pillows were covered in mold, indicating a complete lack of cleanliness. I seriously doubt the rooms are cleaned after guests check out.
To make matters worse, I encountered cockroaches in my room, and dogs were wandering in as well. When I brought this to the manager’s attention, the only advice I received was to keep the door closed and stay inside. I couldn’t even bear to stay for one night and left immediately. Save yourself the trouble and find another place to stay.
I recently stayed at this resort and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Upon entering our room, we were greeted by cockroaches, insects and dogs. The bedspread and pillow covers were visibly dirty, making it hard to feel comfortable at all.
Reaching the resort was another challenge altogether. The pathway was very narrow, with ditch water flowing alongside, making it difficult to navigate. If you have more luggage, it would be very difficult to reach the resort.
To make matters worse, there were dogs roaming the corridors constantly. One even barged into our room as we opened the door, which was both shocking and unsettling. There’s no hot water at all which was another major inconvenience. The floors were muddy and unkempt.
Additionally, I found personal items, like comb from previous guests, still left in the room. It was clear that the room was not cleaned well before we checked in. Overall, the service was lacking, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
I would recommend everyone to avoid this hotel like the plague. Gokarna International Beach Resort is neither international nor does not have the basic qualifications for a resort.
Parking/reachability:
There is no hotel parking available. You have to park in a separately paid private parking space 500- 600m from the hotel. The path from the parking to the hotel is narrow, damp and you even have to jump over a small gate at one point. Part of the path is filled with drainage water so it is difficult to traverse if you have heavy luggage in you (the hotel does not offer any help with the luggage).
Pool:
It is not maintained at all. Even if one swam in this pool only for a few minutes, they would get seriously ill.
Location:
The location is smack dab in the middle of Kudle beach so that’s the only saving grace for this hotel.
Room:
The rooms are decrepit and look like those in sleazy motels in which people get murdered in movies.
there is no hot water. I don’t think the sheets and the pillowcases are even washed when a new guest enters since my friend found a comb in the sheets when she first entered the room. The bathroom is also not up to standard- it is infested with cockroaches and I found some previous resident’s items there as well.
The straw that broke the camel’s back though is the dogs. The dogs entered our rooms WHICH WERE ON THE FIRST FLOOR. When we complained about that to the hotel staff, they blamed us for opening the room door.
The service staff were also incredibly unprofessional and rude, and threatened to call the police when we complained about the rooms.
Lift/Elevator: No
Value for money: No. Just no.
Safety:
Few feral stray dogs can cause some trouble but the hotel is generally safe since it is in a very public touristy place.
Amenities:
Other than the dirty moldy pool, no other amenity to speak of.
I never suggest this resort to any of you. Only the resort name carries the name of resort they maintain more worse than the roadside lodge.
Swimming Pool is worst maintained.
When asked for Hot water they carry it from other room and serve you.
Not even a complimentary water bottle.
After 9PM you get water bottle even for cash from this resort.
Rooms are not maintained properly.
Cleaning person will not come on daily basis.
Beed sheet provided will be a used one from other room cleaned.
Street Dogs will be seated right when you open the door early morning.
No dust bins.
Purely lodge is been runned in the name of Resort.
