It was actually a quirk, or an error, in the Airbnb listing that lead me to stay at the City Top Homestay in Srinagar, UK. It was only a two-day stay so I did not make an issue out of the booking misrepresentation. Besides, as it turned out, I really enJoyed my time at City Top for several key reasons. As an experienced traveler I have very basic needs as far as accommodations are concerned: cleanliness, comfort, convenience, and safety. All four of these criteria were present at City Top.
I had a safe and secure place to store my motorcycle. WiFi was decent. Hot water was appreciated. And the price was very reasonable. In addition, the view from the large balcony showed the city and the river and the town in their absolute splendor and glory. As peaceful as the place was, the sounds of the city rose to the heights of City Top with charming appeal, indicating life and livelihood thriving in the town below.
On my final morning at City Top Homestay I walked to the garden above the building itself, and I found a lovely natural environment that was delightful and comforting to visit. I wish I had known about it the day before, because i surely would have spent more time there appreciating its tranquility.
Indeed, if you choose to stay at City Top, you can expect a pleasant and rewarding sojourn for the reasonable price involved. Chances are, you won’t be disappointed.
We had a vacation with our family and we were lucky that we got to know about this place. We got a beutiful view of the whole Srinagar city.
I have stayed at dozen of hotels. This was on the top of the list of best stays/ experiences ever. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone.

We had a very nice stay in this place a bit away from the crowded center, with beautiful view on the Garhwal mountains as we were touring in Uttarakhand. We had amazing exchanges with Mrs. Rashni who welcomed us very well and had discussions about Indian culture and garments, as well as advices on the next steps of our trip. On top, the restaurant has large choice and is open at most times. Would recommend !
Avoid going with family or your partner because the homestay will allow drunkyard guests creating nuisance all the night . Not safe for female travelers or family. Rooms are dirty in condition, they allow other guests to drink at the premises all night long which will be difficult for other guest to sleep , Staff is least bothered to stop anyone .
I recently had the pleasure of staying at City Top Homestay, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed warmly by the friendly and attentive staff who made sure my every need was met throughout my stay.
The room itself was impeccably clean and spacious, with all the amenities one could need for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern and well-equipped, and the view from the window was breathtaking.
The location of the homestay was also a huge plus – situated in the heart of the city, it was easy to get around and explore all that the area had to offer. And yet, despite its central location, the homestay was surprisingly peaceful and quiet.
What really stood out to me, however, was the level of service provided by the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed, from recommendations for local restaurants to arranging transportation to the airport.
Overall, I would highly recommend City Top Homestay to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming place to stay in the city. The staff, the room, the location – everything was top-notch, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Five stars, without a doubt!
