On our recent family trip to Guwahati I booked this hotel for three nights but we stayed for just one night.
Our booking was for an executive room but it was cramped and the ac was not working. I requested a change of room as it was just too small for our family of four but that did not happen on the first night. After multiple requests a technician came, opened the ac, removed the filter and hosed the dirt from the ac on the commode and just left; I had to clean that myself as I didn’t want to call housekeeping or make any more requests.
On the second day after my many requests for a change of room to a bigger one, with the knowledge that we will have to pay extra for the ‘premium’ bigger room, we were shifted to a room with a prevalent odour of a recent paint job, however unpleasant it was we were willing to go with that as it was bigger than our previous room. And yet again the ac in this room did not work, after yet another haggling session a technician came and inspected the ac and made a few phone calls and finally told us that it can’t be fixed and that we have to shift to yet another room. When we were reluctant to shift to a third room just after a night’s stay they offered us pedestal fans, my patience was hanging on a thread by then and add to the fact that there were loud noises of jackhammers next door(a point many reviewers made) and that there was no hot water available from the taps to even bathe and clean our baby we decided to leave the place for good. We left the hotel after 10 pm on the second night.
As a policy the hotel did not provide us any reimbursement for the three nights that was paid in advance but we were willing to sacrifice all that because of the seemingly non-existing management.
I kind of feel sad for the staff that works here, the hotel owner and the management needs to do some serious retrospection.
In my many recent journeys across the region and the country I perhaps might not have found a hotel worse than the fancily named D’Courtyard Hotel.
It’s proximity to the City Center may be their only selling point.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to do justice to their hard – earned money!
I Have been to this hotel couple of times on direct booking and every time the hotel has allowed early check-in requests as my flight arrives early. But very astonishing when i did a pre-paid book through MMT, the hotel asked me to wait till 12 pm and said that the entire hotel is booked and guests haven’t checked out yet. Then i saw couple of guest’s did early check-in, on asking they said as you have booked through MMT you have to pay Rs 1000 extra for early check-in. This is really disappointing and will never visit or recommended this hotel to anyone
This hotel is the best for travelller.. Servicing is top class but only one think i like to say is for outside state its very hard to communicate as most employees understand only hindi or local language that is the negative.. Hotel base 10/10
Staff are very friendly and food quality is awesome. Also they maintain hygienic environment in their hotel. Highly recommended.
The AC in the room was noisy when asked for change of room the incharge initially didn’t provide, later upon insisting he gave us a room. Here ac was working but there was no remote. Even after repeated requests the remote was not provided. The AC was running at the temperature of 16 degrees. It was a difficult time. In bathroom, the tap discharged hot water in both the ways, luckily it was not that hot so we managed.The reception was full of mosquitoes. We can’t even sit there for check out.
