Not sure why this place doesn’t have high ratings. I found the room absolutely clean, the bathroom was spotless, and the rooms were pretty specious. TV worked and so did the cable. The location is also great! Walking distance from the railway station and bang in the middle of the market. The building itself is vintage but has been maintained really well.
This was my second stay with this property. Basis my first experience I re-booked. However, in 1.5 years things changes alot.
Staff is not much co-operated. They will deny you for even the basic requirement of wifi..
Boss really!
The Gobind Bhawan Heritage Hotel is a great option to consider for stay while at Haridwar. The hotel is conveniently located at about a kilometer and half away from the Har ki Pauri. We of course chose to walk through the streets and market to soak in the city but there are plenty of rickshaws just outside the hotel.
The staff is polite and courteous and rooms are clean and spacious. However, I do wish it was a tad bit more clean, we found dust in the shelf but it wasn’t a deal breaker for us since we didn’t use it. The staff seemed ready to serve, so I’m sure had we brought it to their notice they’d have cleaned it. The bathroom in our room was huge, perhaps just as large as the room itself!
They have a restaurant on the ground floor which serves some pretty good vegetarian food. Ramji at the reception was kind enough to arrange a cab for our next journey at a reasonable cost and ensured it was made available for us at the time requested.
Overall, a pleasant experience.
Har Ki Pauri is closed these days but it was not communicated to us by the Hotel. Moreover when I got to know about this from other sources and talked to the Hotel regarding the refund of the payments made as one goes to Haridwar basically to take a dip at Har Ki Pauri, Hotel owner simply refused to refund and is not even ready to adjust this amount in my future bookings with the Hotel. He was not even ready to disclose me the date when the Har Ki Pauri would reopen. Although I could easily find this information on google. Really inappropriate.
This is one of the best places to stay.Food served is very hygenic and tasty.
