This is a motel in Roing where we stayed for a night during our return journey from Anini to Dibrugarh. Each double room cost us ₹4,000 per night, which included a complimentary vegetarian dinner. While the place was clean, hygienic, and the rooms were spacious, the pricing felt quite steep. In my opinion, these rooms should have been priced around ₹2,000-2,500 at most.
One thing to note about Roing is the limited lodging options. The few decent places available tend to charge ₹4,000 and above for what I would describe as “okay-ish” rooms. Roing is also a common stopover point when traveling from Assam to Anini or Dong, as the journey is often too long and exhausting to complete without a break. This likely contributes to the higher room rates.
The motel has an on-site restaurant, and while the food was alright, it was overpriced given the taste.
What left a sour impression was the hospitality. We arrived at the motel around 6-7 PM and were the only guests in the cottages throughout our stay. The next day, despite knowing the checkout time was 12 noon, we requested a small extension to stay a couple more hours, as we only needed to sit in one of the rooms with our luggage. The host and staff, however, were completely unwilling to accommodate our request. Many other hotels—whether budget or luxury—would typically allow such extensions, especially when it’s a reasonable request to make the guest’s stay more convenient. In the end, the owner reluctantly agreed to let us extend the checkout until 1 PM (just one extra hour) only if we ordered lunch from their restaurant, which we had no choice but to agree to since our train from Dibrugarh was later in the evening.
For me, certain aspects really matter when it comes to lodging. Basic amenities are, of course, important, but beyond luxury, it’s often the hospitality of the host that leaves the lasting impression. In this case, that aspect was lacking, which negatively impacted our overall experience.
Rooms are good and clean. But the bathroom has the problem of drainage because the drain pipe of the basin is not fitted into the drain outlet. So water flows onto the bathroom floor. However the hotel staff were helpful. Hotel Location is good
They were not giving us extra plate
Do visit.. 👍 all the staff were very helpful.
Very nice place to visit
