This is the best hotel at Majuli District of Assam. But rooms there are very costly compared to other hotel. But service there are not up to the mark. Food lovers will not like the place. But it’s very nice to spend the morning in the balcony. To get good food experience you have to order early. Situated at a good place
This Govt guest house is well located. the rooms are large with balcony. But the maintenance is very poor. Not clean also. They don’t allow us to use the restaurant at all. They didn’t give us a proper receipt for the room bill. I wonder this is how all the taxpayers money is going.
We stayed here on all my trips to Majuli. If you are looking for an AC room, this is probably the only place. Clean and people are helpful. But the architect did a blunder by designing this place with two many unnecessary steps. Don’t expect early morning checkouts and breakfasts , or a morning cup of tea. Little laid back. Otherwise , this is the right place for a comfortable sleep expecially in humid summers. Insects may trouble you if you keep the lights on, because the place is surrounded by lush green paddy fields. Those who want to stay in a village environment, there are lots of nice places , but be prepared not to complain about many small luxuries we are used too.
Very costly rooms, for the quality of room and service. Staff is totally untrained. Much better options like bamboo cottages available in Majuli, and would prefer the same next time.
Best place to stay in Majuli. It’s a government run guest house. Rooms are big and precious but too expensive. Staff is ok, women at reception couldn’t speak Hindi or English so was very difficult to communicate.
