I had the pleasure of staying with Salt Life Stays during my recent Andaman trip, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always attentive to our needs, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
The accommodations were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed, providing the perfect balance of relaxation and convenience. The highlight of the stay, however, was the delicious food! Every meal was a treat, with fresh, flavorful dishes that showcased the best of local cuisine.
Thanks to Salt Life Stays, our trip was stress-free and memorable. I highly recommend them to anyone visiting the Andamans for a truly exceptional experience. We’ll definitely be returning!
I have stayed for one night here at the end of my Andaman trip. This hotel is situated at a very convenient location near to Hado jetty and phoenix bay jetty. Thus it is very convenient to reach here after alighting from jetty. This hotel offers excellent view from the breakfast place.
Breakfast was tasty and can be custom made. I would always prefer this hotel while visiting Andaman next time.
Room are equipped with all necessary and basic facilities like electric kettle, wardrobe etc. Basic toiletries, towel etc. However I find the room not so spacious but ok types, it is just in front of the beach but the beach is roadside and too much unclean to even visit so just you can have a cold breeze that’s all. One more thing is that it’s a kind of guest house and no food is available in the property though you can order from outside
Currently this not exactly hotel its kind of guest room. They are undergoing renovation .Our room was on 2nd floor and no lift so we have to go by stairs. There is no restaurant so you have to order food from outside. Servise was good and staff were really helpful. We were staying with baby and whatever we asked to prepare they did. Budget friendly hotel.
They need to improve on wifi signal.
I’ve stayed in lots of resorts, 5 star hotels and other commercial properties. So my initial approach towards this small seaside property was critical. However, I must say that the hotel staff changed my mind with their cordial nature and hospitality. Having said that, constructive criticism is always good for improvement. First I’ll go through the pros, then I’ll leave some suggestions for improvement.
PROs:
1. The hotel is located just beside the sea and the view from the balcony of seaview room is breathtaking, which I believe, can be hardly challenged by even costly 5 stars.
2. There is a small dining area/setup in the common balcony facing the sea. Having snacks/breakfast with the sound of raging sea is fulfilling in its own way.
3. The reception staff (specially Atanu and Shanu) are very attentive to every minute requirement of guests and try their best to fulfill the same. They even took the pain to arrange ginger for making us ginger tea/provided umbrella while raining/ prepared alu sedhho (specific bengali style) as requested.
4. Washrooms, although small, are very clean and come with hair driers, which is an important arsenal in washroom accessories.
5. Cleanliness and maintenance of rooms and washroom are commendable.
6. They have WiFi.
7. Mini-refrigerators are available in the room.
Now the suggestions:
1. The first thing that is required in the room is an intercom and a looking glass in the doors.
2. Installation of chain type semi-locks for added security.
3. Installation of smoke detectors/sprinkler.
4. Dedicated pick up and drop from/to airport.
5. Little more customization in the breakfast menu, like addition of fresh juice, coconut chutney with idli, masala dosa, whole fruits, oats, vegetable sandwich etc…
6. The shower area may be separated with a small granite strip on the floor.
7. A small rack/stand and press for drying clothes may be provided in the rooms.
8. Tabletop of the small coffee table inside the room may be replaced with granite/marble for improved aesthetics.
9. Providing small things like dental kits, bath robes and night slippers in the room before guests ask for them.
At present, the hotel does not serve dinner (can be arranged from outside on request). As informed by the employees, restaurant and lift are under construction. Once, these are added, I hope this hotel will soar with flying colours. Another thing I felt necessary was addition of 1/2 dedicated floor managers or housekeeping/restaurant staff and keep the receptionist/front desk host at the reception. It does not look professional for the receptionists to leave the front desk empty and attend the housekeeping need of guests. I understand that this is a very small setup at present, but these leaps will have to be taken to take the establishment to the next level. Hope to visit in future also. Again a big round of applause for the staffs for their warm and cordial nature and trying their best to make the stay of guests comfortable.
Best wishes for the owner and staff.
