The collection of dolls from different regions and countries is simply amazing. Each doll tells a unique story and represents the rich cultural heritage of its place of origin.
The attention to detail and the vibrant costumes make the exhibits come alive. It’s a fantastic place for both kids and adults to learn about diverse cultures through these beautiful dolls. Highly recommend a visit for a truly fascinating journey around the world! 🌍🎎
People of every age get excited to hear about dolls due to their love for dolls or due to nostalgia. Shankar’s International Dolls Museum ignites the same feelings. But as a viewer, when you visit it, you will feel that it was not maintained properly. Dolls’ clothes get dirty with age but not cleaned or changed. In the present state, the ticket price of Rs 30 will feel expensive. today’s social media age they have disallowed photography and videography, which is disappointing for kids because to compensate that they don’t have fun activities, information, or stories of the dolls and museum to learn there. Although I secretly clicked pictures. Water and washroom facilities are also unavailable. IF SOMEONE FROM MUSEUM IS READING THIS I APPEAL THEM TO ALLOW PHOTOGRAPHY OR HAVE SOME FUN ACTIVITIES THERE TO ENGAGE CHILDREN.

Although I secretly clicked 3 pictures.6500 dolls from over 85-90 countries. IF SOMEONE FROM MUSEUM IS READING THIS I APPEAL THEM TO ALLOW PHOTOGRAPHY OR HAVE SOME FUN ACTIVITIES THERE TO ENGAGE CHILDREN. Kids (7 and 3) years enjoyed it. museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. There is not any lunch break. The ticket counter closes at 5.30 p.m. It Remains closed on Monday and other gazetted holidays. First doll gifted to Shankar is from Hungary. ITO metro station gate no.4.As cannot touch the dolls, one time visit.
They have about 3k-4k dolls brought from different countries placed inside glass cabinet. For 30 rs, the one time watch experience is ok, but since there’s absolutely no effort to engage kids with any fun activity, I see no reason to ever go back to this place.
This place has emmense potential for story tellers to engage audience for hours. Most of the dolls are from colonial era which represent a clear distinction between ruler class and slave class. But instead of making this place interactive, the only thing mgmt bothers about is – Watch public & make sure nobody is taking pictures. That’s it. I’m feeling sad as well as disappointed with their mgmt.
Parking lot next to this building is 50rs per car.
Nice place for children’s all world life style and culture dolls
