We stayed at Tehri Club Resort, Chamba for 2 nights. It was average stay overall considering price we paid.
Positives:
1. Check-in was quick.
2. Property location is very good. It has access to scenic views.
3. It is very large property with good space inside, including gym and pool, for families with kids specially.
4. Food quantity and rates were reasonable.
Negatives:
1. Hygiene and maintenance was pretty average. There was dust on side table and center table. TV rack was also not clean. We could see spots on wardrobe and bathroom door. We visited gym and it was having dust on almost all equipments. This was not expected from a 4-star property.
2. Toilet hand faucet was having leakage and had to be turned off from main water supply during every use. Also, door latch was so tight that we struggled every time while opening door.
3. Dining space is very limited and we had to wait almost every time to get a table. Also, it doesn’t have any vibe of restaurant dining area, rather it looks more like a we are having food at a wedding function.
4. Buffet menu was okay and not that great.
5. Nobody bothered to check how our stay was going considering this is a 4-star property.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Tehri Club Resort, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their warm hospitality and attentive service.
The luxury room with a balcony was a highlight of our stay. It was spacious, well-appointed, and offered stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty. Waking up to the serene landscape each morning was a true delight.
One of the standout features of this resort was the food. The dining experience was elevated by views of mountains surrounding the resort, creating a wonderful ambiance. The meals were delicious, showcasing a variety of flavors that catered to all tastes.
Convenience was also a major plus. Moreover, its location away from the chaotic traffic of the city center allowed us to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing family getaway. Hotels and resorts near Tehri dam are either expensive or congested.
In summary, Tehri club resort offered an exceptional stay with its excellent staff, luxurious rooms, delightful dining experiences, convenient parking, and tranquil location. It’s a perfect choice for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty near Tehri and Chamba with their family.
Very rude front desk staff. From receptionists to the top level management all are liars, they try to overcharge you for the room rates and if you try to discuss something they are onto their top of the voice to make them right.
Rooms were smelly as they were closed for a while.
Also the restaurant is quite a distance, you can forget the way to reach the restaurant.
The swimming pool is not maintained properly, tiles are broken inside the pool, again the way to the pool was so confusing and far away that a couple of families turned back to their rooms.
Property is big enough but not maintained properly.
Worst holiday experience in past 15 years
I recently stayed at TCR, and unfortunately, my experience was below expectations. Despite the high price of the rooms, the overall stay was average at best, and it felt like we paid for more than what we received.
To begin with, the rooms are quite expensive, yet the services provided are minimal. For the price they charge, one would expect a higher standard of service and better amenities, but that was not the case. There were also maintenance issues during our stay. The shower in our room was faulty, and we had problems with the door not locking properly. After complaining about the door, it was only repaired late at 8 PM, just as we returned from a long day out and wanted to rest. This was a major inconvenience and could have been handled much better.
Overall, the hotel is overhyped and over-expensive. While the location might attract some guests, the lack of attention to detail and poor service make it hard to justify the cost. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless improvements are made.
The property is located with a beautiful view of mountains. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff (Mr. Deepak Chauhan) is extremely polite and cater to all your demands. Food and drinks are delivered in a hygienic manner and is delicious.
