The Kumaon offered us a beautiful and absolutely hospitable stay.
The silence at night, sound of the birds in the day and the breath taking view from the room was absolutely amazing..
The staff were the kindest and warmest I’ve met. Abhinav, the General Manager, took us for the most memorable leopard sighting in the area.
Meenakshi and the rest of the staff were equally accomodating and hospitable. Loved our stay.
Another thing that impressed us was that everything the property used was sustainable and eco friendly…The menu is also set in advance so as to not waste food(a la carte is not an option though the chefs are very accomodating with any requests made in advance)
This is hospitality with a difference and with minimal harm to nature.
The combination of a breathtaking view of snow-capped mountains, impeccable food that satisfies both the palate and the gut, and a team of courteous and attentive staff can truly make a stay memorable. The stunning views of snow-capped mountains from both the room and the restaurant have added an extra layer of magic to your overall experience. Whether it’s the tranquil beauty during the day or the awe-inspiring sight of the mountains under the night sky, such views can create lasting memories and contribute to a sense of relaxation and wonder.
Acknowledging Abhinav, the General Manager, for ensuring a supremely serene experience reflects an understanding of the importance of effective management in creating a pleasant atmosphere. Such experiences are not only about the physical setting but also the dedication and efforts of the team behind the scenes.
Drawbacks of property : After the first person takes a shower you need to wait for half an hour for next person. Also hot water runs just for 5 minutes. In winter we had a bad experience of this.
Location drawback : Especially for guests who may find it difficult to manage a 200-meter gradual steep walk, especially those above the age of 55. Some facility should be there.
Pricing quite high for external nature walks or river side tea time. The charge 3000/- per couple and you end up going for an hour drive in your own car. For tea only cookies and tea is served.

The food at the on-site restaurant was not only delicious but also offered a wide variety of options.
One notable aspect was the hotel’s peaceful ambiance. Despite being in the heart of the city, I enjoyed a quiet and restful night’s sleep, contributing to the overall positive experience.
I wholeheartedly recommend The Kumaon to fellow travelers. It’s a gem that seamlessly combines excellent service, comfort, and value, making it the perfect choice for a memorable stay in the city. for a peaceful getaway. The design of the room is clever, thoughtful
and aesthetically pleasing. The staff is excellent and their hospitality
is overwhelming. The food is top-notch and the scenic dining area
just adds to the charm of the experience.
One of the highlights of our stay was the opportunity to interact with many foreign tourists. It was a great way to learn about different cultures and share experiences. The hotel seemed to attract a diverse crowd, which made the atmosphere lively and vibrant.
Moreover, the food at the hotel’s restaurant was simply awesome. We tried various dishes, both local specialties and international cuisine, and everything was delicious.
