We had a delightful stay at the tourist cottage in Khajjiar, Himachal, for two days and one night. The cottage, with its charming wooden construction, added a rustic feel to our experience. Located just 200 meters from the Khajjiar ground and accessible by road, it was very convenient. They offer various cottages, including one with a kitchen, and provide a cooking stove and utensils on a chargeable basis. Bonfire arrangements and beautiful seating options added to the ambiance, while the swimming pool in front of the cottage was a luxurious touch. The staff was helpful and well-behaved, and while the kitchen isn’t ultra-luxurious, the basic food available was tasty. Highly recommended for a cozy and memorable stay!
The staff was excellent, and the view was stunning. It’s a peaceful spot surrounded by the sounds of nature. There’s not much to do except sit back, relax, and take in the scenery.
Property has 6 big cottages easily to accommodate 4 adults and 2 kids.
Views are good but not breathtaking.
Main disappointing is the service as there was only a cook and a helper to look after guests. There is no intercom in the room so we had to call the helper every time for any need. We had to call him atleast 15 times in a 1 day stay, as no amenities was available in the room and we had to remind him of everything. We called him for toiletries, then for towels, then for water bottles, glasses ECT.
As we reached in evening and far from market we decided to have the dinner here, but tandoor items were not available. So we ordered tawa roti with dal tadka, aloo punjabi and paneer do pyaza which all were delicious and we end up eating extra and didn’t sulk for other inconvenience.
But biggest disappointment was the included breakfast, which had only paranthas (only aloo and mix as , paneer Paratha was chargeable), plain sandwich, toast and tea/coffee. Dahi was out of stock but we insisted to get it from the market, which they did.
Overall our experience after breakfast was totally disappointing.
